Mission & Vision
Church Vision
TO BE A DISCIPLE-MAKING CHURCH BY GROWING FROM THE ROOTS TO THE FRUIT
Our Church Vision is to be a Disciple-making Church. We believe that God requires this of every one of His churches. It is Christ’s Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). It is the command that Christ gave His disciples just before He left this world: “Go and make disciples of all nations…”
A Disciple is somebody who loves Jesus first above all people and all things (Luke 14:26-27). As a result of that, he/she also loves God’s Words and puts them into obedience (John 8:31-32). A person who loves God’s Word, which is a spiritual seed, will bear fruit that lasts (John 15:15-16). Love is the prime taste of the fruit that distinguishes the disciples of Christ from all other disciples (John 13:34-35).
They are people who love like how Jesus did when He was on earth, sacrificially (loving even enemies) and unconditionally (He died for the sins of everyone). Other tastes of lasting fruits that we in LWC want to develop are as below:-
- Assurance of Salvation – that we are sure that we are Children of God due to our firm faith in Him and His Word, and not because of anything else, whatever the circumstances.
- Stability of Faith – we want to have faith that is real under various kinds of circumstances.
- Christ-likeness – we want to be like Jesus in character.
- Consistency – what we are outside is consistent with what we are inside.
- Independence – our security is independent from our performances.
The above are fruit tastes that may be hidden in us.
- Internal Fruit – If indeed love and the other five inner fruit tastes are in us, it will inadvertently produce fruit tastes that can be seen.
- External Fruit – Which is the Fruit of the Gospel, meaning people coming to know Christ from different races and social groups, and in different geographical locations. We want to multiply individually and also in small groups.
Church Mission
How do we help our members love God’s Word and bear fruit that lasts?
Our mission is captured in this phrase: “Grow from the Roots to the Fruit.”

INTRODUCE – INPUT – INVOLVE – INTERN – IMPACT
First, we INTRODUCE Christ to non-believers by sharing the Gospel to them. We reveal the Gospel as we evangelize to our friends and as we invite them to our church worship services.
Second, we give INPUT to new believers. Input that comes from the Word of God and prayers. This is because a Disciple should love God’s Words or feed from them and obey them. A Disciple should be growing in intimacy with God through communing with Him in prayer.
Third, we INVOLVE a Disciple in laboring in the Kingdom to be either directly involved with people (e.g. sharing the Gospel, praying for people) and indirectly involved with people (e.g. worship team, helping in Sunday School and Services).
Fourth, we would INTERN or train some people so that they will develop into young leaders who will be able to influence people with the Word of God through sharing, Quiet Time and Bible Study.
Fifth, we want to make an IMPACT in the lives of some of the young leaders so that they will develop into mature leaders who will not only influence people, but also lead people by multiplying their influence in individuals and small groups. One way they multiply their influence is when the people they influence are also influencing others.
